AMPO POYAM VALVES is supplying a portfolio of highly engineered valves with dimensions up to 56‑inch, Class 900 for the Berri Development Project. Under this initiative, Saudi Aramco is installing new process units to upgrade its gas‑oil separation facilities at Abu Ali in the Arabian Gulf. Saudi Aramco acts as the end‑user of the field development, while Saipem/Snamprogetti Saudi Arabia Ltd serves as the awarded EPC contractor for the project.
For this landmark project, AMPO POYAM VALVES has completed the design and manufacturing of custom‑built gate valves and swing check valves, including 56‑inch and 48‑inch Class 900 gate valves. All wetted surfaces of these valves are overlaid with Inconel 625 weld overlay for harsh‑condition service.
All cladding work was executed in‑house at the company’s manufacturing base in Spain, leveraging proprietary machining capability and state‑of‑the‑art automated weld overlay systems, including multiple robotic welding stations and cladding cells. The weld overlay procedure for the 56‑inch gate valve alone demanded around 12 weeks of non‑stop production. This high‑performance cladding delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, wear resistance, anti‑coking and metal dusting resistance for valve sealing faces and contact surfaces, ensuring long‑term reliability under severe operating conditions.
