AMPO POYAM VALVES has further strengthened its dedication to the global energy transition after winning a new contract to provide cryogenic gate, globe and check valves for the Power, Capture and Compression (PCC) Project. The PCC scheme forms part of the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) initiative, a full-chain carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) development located in Teesside, North-East England. Developed in partnership with the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), Net Zero Teesside seeks to accelerate decarbonisation across the Teesside and Humber industrial hubs. It will deliver the UK’s first zero-carbon industrial cluster, with capacity to capture up to 10 million tonnes of CO₂ annually. At the heart of the project lies a large-scale CCGT power plant fitted with post-combustion carbon capture technology. Low-carbon power generated by the facility will be supplied to the UK national grid. Captured and processed CO₂ will be compressed to high pressure before being routed through offshore pipelines for permanent sequestration. Designed for 4 MTPA capacity, the high-pressure compression system can also accept CO₂ sourced from other emitters connected to the local collection network. Net Zero Teesside Power Ltd, a joint venture between BP and Equinor, is leading project development, while Technip Energies acts as the EPC contractor.
